I’m sharing a personal review of my stay at Atlantis The Royal in Dubai, which may be controversial given the mixed opinions about this hotel.
I stayed in August 2025 in a Sky Pool Villa with a Palm View, and my experience is based on that room category.
Location & arrival:
The hotel is on Palm Jumeirah, about an hour from DXB, though access to the island can take extra time. The area itself is quiet and scenic but not very lively compared to central Dubai. Since I booked a high-tier room, airport transfers and butler service were included, and check-in was handled smoothly in my room.
Room & amenities:
The villa was very large, with both indoor and outdoor space and a private temperature-controlled pool overlooking the view. Service was highly personalized, with butlers available via WhatsApp and complimentary minibar items. Amenities included premium toiletries, a pillow menu, and overall strong attention to detail. I felt the villa exceeded expectations and compared favorably even to other ultra-luxury suites I’ve stayed in. Room placement also mattered significantly, as some villas have more private or unobstructed views than others.
Hotel grounds:
The property itself felt extremely large and busy, almost like a theme park, with many non-guests taking photos. It felt crowded and less exclusive than expected for a luxury property.
Food:
Dining was excellent overall, especially breakfast and restaurant experiences like Ariana’s Persian Kitchen, with strong food quality and service.
Conclusion:
The experience varies greatly depending on room type. The sky pool villa category delivers a true luxury experience, but standard rooms may not justify the overall hype of the resort.
