Destinations that truly hit different when you travel solo, single, and child free

I’m a 36F first time solo traveler and planning two solo trips this year. One bigger, more adventurous birthday trip in late March to early April, and one lighter, low stress trip in May.

I’m trying to pick places that really shine when you’re alone. The kind of trips that make you think, thank God I did this solo, without kids or obligations. Not places that feel like they’d be better with friends or a partner.

Right now I’m considering:

Jordan

Morocco

Norway

Portugal

Uzbekistan

Slovenia + Malta

Georgia + Turkey

Croatia + Montenegro

For those of you who’ve done similar trips, which destinations felt especially powerful or freeing to experience on your own? Any on this list you’d actually skip for solo travel?

And if you had to split them between spring and early summer, which would you put in March–April vs May?

Would love honest takes, especially from other solo women.
