Had a weird one today I was flying ORD–LHR in business on an award ticket (AAdvantage miles). Got turned away from the Flagship Lounge because they said award tickets don’t count as “Flagship Business,” only paid ones do. I escalated it, spent almost an hour talking to different staff and another 45 minutes on the phone with Admirals Club services, but everyone said the same thing.
I ended up missing most of my preflight time and had to board. Filed a complaint.
