Had a long layover in EZE (USH → EZE → IAH) and tried to get into the Centurion lounge with my US Amex Plat. They flat-out denied me. First excuse was the 3-hour rule still applying to layovers. When I pushed back, they said my inbound was “domestic” so they couldn’t scan the boarding pass and that made me ineligible. Felt like they were just making stuff up as they went.
Checked Amex’s terms later and the clear layover language seems to be gone. Used to be spelled out when the 3-hour rule launched now it’s just vague FAQ wording. Amex chat reps said I should have access, but that doesn’t help when the lounge staff don’t follow it.
Anyone else run into this at Centurion lounges lately?
