Had a confirmed KUL to SIN to DOH to WAW itinerary on Jan 7 to 8. The issue was the final segment, QR263 Doha to Warsaw.
At the gate in Doha I was involuntarily denied boarding due to overbooking. I did not volunteer. They rerouted me DOH to Athens to Warsaw and I arrived about 7 hours late.
Since it was a transit segment I never received the original boarding pass for QR263, but my reissued boarding pass clearly says involuntarily denied boarding.
Staff told me to submit a claim online and that compensation would be handled later. It’s now been over a month and I’ve only received a generic response with no mention of compensation.
What’s frustrating is the airline oversold the flight, I had no realistic option but to accept the reroute, and now the burden seems to be entirely on me to chase this.
For those who’ve dealt with involuntary denied boarding on Qatar, how did you escalate it? Did you eventually get compensation?
