Denied 4pm checkout as a Platinum, did something change?

I’m Platinum and booked this specific Marriott because it wasn’t a resort or convention property, so I’d get the guaranteed 4pm checkout for my late flight.


Front desk denied it saying it’s “based on availability.” Asked to speak with the desk manager who repeated the same thing, blaming the holiday rush. I emailed Bonvoy and the GM, and got a vague response back.


Did Marriott change the late checkout policy for 2026 and just not update the website yet?
