Booked a round trip with two legs and checked the upgrade offers in the Delta app this morning. The first domestic leg had an upgrade to first class for about 6,800 miles per person or $168.
Closed the app for a few minutes to ask my partner about it. Came back maybe 5 minutes later and checked again. Same upgrade was suddenly 16,900 miles per person. The cash price stayed exactly the same.
Didn’t misread it either. The miles cost more than doubled just from backing out and checking again a few minutes later.
Not even sure I wanted the upgrade. Just annoying that you can’t even think about it for a few minutes without the price changing.
