Just got back from a Delta flight where my luggage came off the carousel looking like it got into a fight with a jet engine. It was completely shredded, even airport staff commented on how bad it looked. When I went to the baggage desk, I expected at least an inspection or some accountability. Instead, I got stonewalled. They refused to look inside, floated the lithium battery excuse (there was none), and I had to push just to file a claim. Now Delta’s denying the damage even happened, claiming the “notes” don’t match my story.
Luckily, I recorded the whole interaction, including the rep refusing to inspect the bag. I’m not even mad about the $320 claim anymore it’s the treatment that’s infuriating.
