Looks like Delta is bringing Basic fares to Delta One and domestic First. Basically lie flat or First, but stripped of flexibility and perks. No seat changes, no upgrades, more restrictions, just a cheaper way to sit up front.
I get why Delta’s doing it from a revenue angle, but this feels like another step toward making premium cabins more confusing and less premium. People already get tripped up by Basic Economy rules. Can already imagine the complaints when someone books Delta One Basic and realizes what they gave up.
Curious how much cheaper these will actually be. If it’s a small discount, this feels like more downside than upside for most flyers.
