I’m excited to see Delta operating flights in Hong Kong again after leaving the market in 2018. They are now competing directly with United Airlines and Cathay Pacific with a new daily nonstop service between Hong Kong and Los Angeles.
We are flying on DL88 today, which feels special since 8 is considered a lucky number in Chinese culture.
We decided to upgrade to Delta One since this is the inaugural week of the route. Delta does not currently have its own lounge at Hong Kong Airport, but passengers in Delta One are given access to the Plaza Premium First Lounge through a partnership with Plaza Premium, located near Gate 35.
My husband and I felt the lounge experience was even better than the Centurion Lounge that comes with the Amex Platinum card.
Overall, it’s great to see Delta expanding service again between Hong Kong and Los Angeles.
