I’m flying MSN–ATL today, and while walking to my gate I heard an announcement from a nearby Delta gate inviting Main Cabin passengers to play cornhole for the remaining Comfort+ seats on the flight.
It didn’t take much convincing—people immediately joined in and were clearly having fun, cheering each other on as they competed for the upgrades. The atmosphere felt very relaxed and “Midwest nice.”
When I asked the gate agent about it, he explained that they were doing this because it was a new MSN–BOS route. He also mentioned they sometimes bring out small games like this during delays to keep passengers entertained.
It was a surprising but memorable way to handle seat upgrades at the gate.
