Was on the Delta flight to SLC that had to turn around midflight because of a mystery smell. Turns out it wasn’t a chemical leak or anything it was a spoiled canned protein shake from an off-duty FA’s bag. The back of the plane smelled so bad they called for fire trucks when we landed.
Only two FAs felt sick, but the rest of us just sat there confused while Delta swapped crews and handed out vouchers. Probably the most expensive protein drink ever. Moral of the story: if your shake’s been in your bag for a week… maybe just throw it out. 😂
