Delta Air Lines will discontinue its service between Austin–Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) and Midland International Air & Space Port (MAF) starting November 9, 2025, citing persistently low demand. The three-times-daily route—active since 2023—was underperforming, with load factors hovering below 60%. Delta plans to redeploy aircraft capacity to busier markets like Cancun, Cabo San Lucas, Denver, and Columbus, and has established a flight attendant base in Austin as part of its Central Texas expansion strategy. Local officials expressed disappointment but noted Southwest will continue serving Midland, and development efforts at the airport—including terminal enhancements—remain in motion.
