Posting this as a warning and hoping for advice. At the Delta counter in Santo Domingo, the agent said he couldn’t rebook our delayed flight and wrote down a phone number for us to call 1-800-212-2121.
We called and spent 45 minutes giving personal and credit card info before realizing it was a scam. The real Delta number ends in 1212. When we went back, the same agent admitted in front of the manager that he wrote the number. Now Delta’s telling us to contact customer support, but they haven’t really helped and we’re left worrying about fraud.
Has anyone dealt with something like this or found an effective way to escalate with Delta?
