Booked SEA to ICN to HAN on Delta. Original plan was a 12:45pm nonstop from Seattle to Seoul, which was perfect for me. Just got notified they changed it to a 7:20am departure with a connection through Salt Lake City instead.
That’s a huge change. I’ve got some flight anxiety and really don’t love adding an extra takeoff and landing. On top of that, I live about an hour and a half from SEA, so a 7:20am flight is a pain compared to a midday departure.
I know I can cancel and get the miles back for free, but it was a solid routing with a reasonable layover in Seoul, which is why I booked it in the first place. Just frustrating that it can get blown up like this.
Is this just standard Delta award ticket behavior now, or is this considered an excessive schedule change?
