Friend’s checked bag came off the belt looking like it was burned and dragged. Ski bibs are toast. Skis and poles are damaged too.
They filed a claim at the airport and took a ton of photos. Delta told them to call the next day to continue the process.
Question is how reimbursement usually works if you don’t have receipts. Can Delta cover replacement costs at current prices, like buying new gear from a ski shop, or do they lowball it as depreciated value?
Replacing all of this is crazy expensive, so any tips on navigating the claim would help.
