Delta Air Lines will permanently terminate its service to Midland International Air & Space Port (MAF) effective November 8, 2025, citing consistently low demand on the Austin–Midland route with load factors under 60%. The carrier has operated three daily flights since launching the route in 2023. The decision reflects Delta’s broader strategy to optimize operations, particularly as it amplifies its presence at Austin–Bergstrom (AUS) with new international routes to Cancun and Cabo San Lucas and the establishment of a new flight attendant base. While the elimination of this route draws disappointment from local officials, Southwest Airlines will continue offering one daily flight between Midland and Austin, and efforts at the Midland airport to upgrade infrastructure remain underway.
