Delta Air Lines to permanently stop all flights to this Texas city

Delta Air Lines will permanently end its service to Midland International Air & Space Port (MAF), effective November 8, 2025. The decision stems from chronically low passenger demand—load factors on the Austin–Midland route consistently averaged below 60% over the past year. Despite strong financial performance overall, Delta is adjusting capacity to better align with demand, redeploying resources to expand its Austin hub with new routes to Cancun, Cabo San Lucas, Denver, Columbus, and Kansas City. Midland city officials expressed disappointment but reaffirmed plans to improve the airport and secure additional carriers. Southwest Airlines will maintain its daily service between Midland and Austin.
