Delta Air Lines, Korean Air, and Air France-KLM have officially acquired minority equity stakes in WestJet, marking a major milestone in global airline partnerships. The deal, finalized on October 22, 2025, saw Delta purchase a 15% stake, Korean Air 10%, and Air France-KLM 2.3%, all from Canadian investment group Onex Partners, which will retain a controlling 75% ownership.

WestJet’s CEO, Alexis von Hoensbroech, said the new partnerships demonstrate strong confidence in the airline’s strategy and performance. The investment aims to strengthen cooperation across transatlantic and transpacific markets, improve passenger connectivity, and enhance WestJet’s international growth potential.
