This is brutal. Bag delayed for two days, then finally shows up with the lock forced open and a PS5 plus clothes missing. That’s not just inconvenience, that’s straight up theft somewhere along the chain.
What gets me is this was with a major airline, long haul, through big airports. You don’t expect to open your suitcase and realize someone clearly went through it and helped themselves. Filing a PIR, then a theft claim, then compensation claims… that’s a lot to dump on someone who just finished a long trip.
The advice at the end sadly feels spot on. Never check electronics, photos before flying, keep receipts. Still, none of that excuses what happened here.
Really hope Qatar does the right thing, but I wouldn’t be holding my breath.
