Yikes, DC now holds the crown for the worst traffic in the country, beating out even LA. The average commute is over 33 minutes, and with construction choking up the GW Parkway, Beltway, and Roosevelt Bridge, it’s a mess for locals and travelers. Add in the return-to-office mandate for federal workers, and it’s no wonder the roads are constantly jammed. If you’re planning to visit, especially around a holiday weekend, definitely rethink your route or time of day, this is not a city you want to hit during peak hours right now.
