Daytime long haul, cabin kept dark… why?

’ve noticed crews dimming or asking for shades down even on daytime flights. Last week it was a mid-day Europe to US run: departed after lunch, landed late afternoon, but the cabin stayed dark most of the way. I get closing them for glare, takeoff/landing, or to keep the plane cooler at the gate. But midflight daylight helps me stay on local time, and honestly I like the view. Eye masks exist for folks who want to sleep, right?


What are you seeing lately on AA actual policy or just crew preference?
