I’ve been thinking about booking a specialty suite for an upcoming trip to Boston later this year, and I understand that these types of suites often require negotiation through the Four Seasons Preferred Partner program.
I’m interested in learning from others who have booked specialty suites or worked through Preferred Partner channels about how the negotiation process typically works and what factors are taken into account.
Some factors I assume may influence pricing include:
Past stay history at the property
Total on-property spend (dining, spa, room service, etc.)
Seasonality (peak vs. off-peak travel periods)
Number of guests staying in the suite
Length of stay (longer stays potentially offering better nightly rates)
Relationship or booking volume through the travel advisor or partner channel
I’m also curious about suites that already have publicly listed pricing online. For example, at Four Seasons Hotel One Dalton Street, Boston, some specialty suites like the Charles and Cambridge Suites show prices on the website, while others like the Presidential Suite require direct inquiry. Similarly, at Four Seasons Hotel Boston, several specialty suites display published rates for certain dates.
Does the presence of publicly listed pricing mean there is little or no flexibility in negotiating for those suites, compared to suites that require calling to inquire?
