Just wrapped up a 41-mile day on the Pacific Crest Trail through Washington and it honestly flew by! Started with 11 miles of steady climbing in the cool morning light and was rewarded with some epic sunrise views from the tippy top didn’t even realize I hit the high point until I was already descending. I even treated myself to breakfast in the tent. This section past the blue lake brought back a flood of memories and reminded me why I love Washington hiking so much.
The terrain definitely slowed me down a bit talus, loose rock, and that classic PNW forest tangle but it was worth it. Snacking on Parmesan cheese and fig crackers while walking helped keep breaks shorter. Anyone else found the perfect on-the-go trail snack combo? Also, who else loves/hates those mysterious delicious smells in the woods?
