I was relaxing near the kids’ area on the Star of the Seas when I witnessed a rather surprising situation.
A woman sitting at the edge of the ship approached a nearby family and asked if they were using the chairs beside them. The family confirmed that they were, explaining that their children were in the pool right next to those seats.
The woman didn’t seem satisfied with that response and began loudly accusing them of hoarding the chairs. She then removed their bags and towels from the chairs, repositioned them, and stated that her son needed the seats. She added that the family could have them back if they needed them.
A couple of minutes later, the children returned and found their chairs occupied and their belongings moved. The woman didn’t acknowledge the situation further.
I understand that saving or holding chairs can be an issue on cruise ships, but this felt like an extreme reaction. Overall, aside from this incident, the ship itself was impressive and well-designed, and I’d definitely consider sailing again.
