At the IHG Hotels & Resorts property Crowne Plaza Astor New Orleans, I was told at check-in that Diamond Elite breakfast benefits are not offered.
This was not clearly stated anywhere beforehand. The hotel has an onsite restaurant that can be charged to the room, but I was informed they have “opted out” of the breakfast benefit. I only found this out upon arrival.
Instead, I received a bottle of water and a small snack, which I estimate at about $0.70 in value. No points or breakfast were provided.
Later, I received a knock on my door from the same staff member who checked me in, offering a breakfast voucher as an apology. However, it was only for one person for one day, while the stated benefit is supposed to cover two guests per day.
I appreciate the gesture, but it still feels like a partial or inconsistent application of the advertised elite benefits, especially since vouchers clearly exist but are apparently only used for certain booking types.
