I’ve been on Couchsurfing for 4 years with 50 positive reviews, but my recent trip to Turkey was awful. Sent 30–40 detailed requests around Istanbul and got either rejections or no replies at all. Meanwhile, I met a girl from CS who said she was getting flooded with hosting offers from the same people who told me they “couldn’t host.”
Also got a few weird messages from nudists or guys looking for something else. Not here to rant, just want to say if you’re using CS in Turkey, especially women, be careful and set boundaries.
