I booked a 12 night Mediterranean cruise for July 2026 with Celebrity Cruises through Costco Travel and originally paid around $18,000 for a suite. Recently, I received an alert showing the cruise price had dropped by about 47%.
The issue was that my cruise was already fully paid and within the penalty period, where adjustments are usually difficult. After checking for advice, I expected that at best I might get onboard credit or a small upgrade.
However, when I contacted Costco Travel, the representative managed to secure a full fare adjustment despite the restrictions. In the end, I received about $4,500 back, which was a great outcome.
I’ve had successful price adjustments with Costco Travel before, but this situation stood out since it’s typically much harder once the cruise is paid off and inside the penalty window.
