I’m planning a move from Budapest to the UK for work and trying to decide whether driving would be more practical than flying.
Since I’ll be settling in a smaller town, I’m thinking a car would make things easier overall. It would let me bring all my belongings in one trip instead of limiting myself to airline luggage restrictions, and also avoid the hassle of buying essentials like bedding and household items immediately after arrival.
I’m also considering breaking up the journey with a ferry crossing to make the trip less exhausting and more manageable.
I came across a discounted ferry option while researching and now I’m seriously considering driving the entire route.
Has anyone done a long-distance relocation like this by car and ferry? I’m looking for advice on whether this is a sensible plan and what potential issues I should be aware of before committing.
