Hi everyone. I’m struggling with this and would really appreciate honest advice.
My wife and I are supposed to travel to India in March. The main reason is to visit my mom in Roorkee, who couldn’t attend our wedding. I’m Indian and have traveled there many times. My wife is white, blonde, and has never been.
I’ve always known about the issues women face in India, but after reading more recent experiences and watching travel vlogs, I’m genuinely worried about her safety, even with me around. Some stories make it sound like having a male partner doesn’t always help.
My top priority is my wife’s well-being, and I’m questioning whether this trip is the right call right now.
For women who have traveled to India, especially outside major tourist areas, how did you feel? Is it manageable with the right precautions, or am I right to be hesitant?
