I’m new to Princess Cruises and have only sailed once before with Royal Caribbean, so I’m a bit confused about how dining works on the Sky Princess in July.
We have the Premier package, which includes 4 casual dining meals each, and I understand those don’t require reservations.
What’s confusing me is the main dining room setup. On my previous cruise, we had fixed dining times (early or late seating) and ate at the same time each night with the same table and staff.
On Princess, I’m seeing something called “Dine My Way” in the app. It shows two main dining room options:
One labeled Cielo Dining Room (private table)
Another called Soleil Dining Room where you can book reservations in 20-minute time slots and share tables with other guests
I don’t see a clear option for traditional fixed dining like I expected, and I thought there might be a third main dining room as well.
So I’m trying to understand:
Can we choose a different dining time each night?
Is fixed traditional dining no longer a thing with this system?
What happens if we just skip our reservation and go to a casual dining venue instead?
Any guidance or tips would be really helpful.
