I’m flying internationally next week with my husband and our 1.5-year-old for a wedding. Since our first flight is around 10 hours, I decided to bring a car seat because I’m hoping my daughter will sleep more comfortably, similar to how she does during car rides.
I intentionally booked bulkhead seats because I thought it would give us more room and avoid inconveniencing passengers behind us if the car seat affected seat recline. My daughter also gets fussy if she feels too restricted, so bulkhead seemed like the best option.
While preparing for the trip, I noticed information stating that children under two may not be allowed in bulkhead seats, though it specifically mentioned restrictions related to stroller/car seat combo systems. We’re using a standard, slimmer airline-friendly car seat, so I’m now confused about whether we actually need to change seats.
We also paid around $800 extra for these bulkhead seats, and I’m worried about losing that money if we’re forced to move, especially since the tickets are non-refundable. I’m planning to call Delta, but I’m trying to understand whether anyone has experience with this situation because I’m finding mixed answers online.
