I am scheduled to board Amtrak Empire Builder 27 in Chicago tomorrow at 3 PM traveling toward Portland (PDX). The Amtrak app currently shows my train as on time, but I noticed that the inbound Empire Builder 8 appears to be stuck in Montana and passengers were reportedly bused to Chicago.
Because of this, I am worried there could be a significant delay to my departure. I am also wondering whether the same trainset will still operate my trip or if Amtrak can substitute equipment or reroute passengers from Chicago if needed.
I am new to Amtrak travel, so any clarification or advice would be appreciated.
