I am planning a cross country train trip through Sweden from the north to the south and will need to book a hotel during the journey.
I will arrive at my destination at 00:42 on May 20th and depart at 05:17 on May 22nd.
I am a bit confused about how hotel booking dates and check in times work. When I see “check in” and “check out” dates, I am not sure how they relate to arriving late at night.
Specifically, if I book a room from May 20th to May 22nd, am I still allowed to check in shortly after midnight on May 20th, or does check in usually only start later in the day (for example around midday), meaning I would actually need to book from May 19th instead?
I just want to make sure I understand how hotel stays are typically calculated before I make a mistake with my booking.
