I live in San Antonio, and after what happened in Kerrville, I don’t think I’ll ever look at the weather forecast the same way when planning trips even local ones. The loss at Camp Mystic hit especially hard. You just don’t expect flash flooding to wipe out entire areas like that, and yet it’s becoming the new normal.
It’s wild to realize how many places we travel to lake houses, cabins, riverside campgrounds are in serious flood zones and we never even think twice about it. I used to brush off flood risk maps when booking Airbnbs, but now I check elevation and proximity to water before clicking Reserve.
I’m curious, anyone else changed how they plan trips because of climate stuff lately? Wildfires, floods, smoke it’s a lot to think about these days.
