I’m pretty new to the digital nomad / extended travel thing. Originally planned to spend about 8 weeks in Colombia, mostly Medellín with some side trips. I’ve been here 3 weeks now and honestly… it’s just not clicking.
I like Medellín. It was great the first week doing tourist stuff. But for day to day life, it doesn’t feel “homey” at all. I haven’t been able to settle into routines. Working out, eating well, focusing on work, learning stuff… all the anchors I usually rely on just aren’t sticking here.
Because of that, I’m thinking about leaving early and heading to Thailand, probably Chiang Mai or Bangkok.
Curious if others have run into this before. Places that look perfect on paper but just don’t work in reality. How do you decide when to push through vs cut your losses? And how do you build those daily anchors in a new place when nothing feels settled yet?
Would love to hear how others navigated this.
