Was flying DXB to EWR and a flight attendant knocked a coffee pot off the cart onto my leg. About two cups of hot coffee all over my jacket, pants, and seat.
What really surprised me was she picked the pot up off the floor and kept pouring coffee for someone else. Didn’t even acknowledge what happened until I asked for paper towels. She eventually brought some and then offered me either $50 or 2,500 miles. I’m a 1K.
Not trying to be dramatic or escalate this into a big thing, but that compensation feels pretty light given the situation. Curious what others have been offered in similar cases and whether this is considered normal for United.
