A passenger apparently left an Omega watch worth around $7k to $9k on a Delta flight. The plane got cleaned after landing, and one of the cleaners found the watch but kept it instead of turning it in.
The watch eventually showed up at a pawn shop, and the serial number flagged it in a national database. Police tracked it back to the cleaner, who admitted he took it while cleaning the aircraft.
Now he’s facing a second degree felony for theft of lost property.
Hard to imagine risking a felony charge over something that clearly would be traceable.
