I finally applied for the new Citi Strata Elite card and got instant approval — wasn’t expecting it after a recent Chase rejection, but here we are! The $2,400+ first-year value is legit: between the 80K bonus, hotel and splurge credits, and those sweet Admirals Club passes, it’s easily one of the best premium card starts I’ve seen in a while. Plus, I love that the credits run on a calendar year so you can double-dip your first year.
That said, be mindful of Citi’s quirks like their 8-day and 65-day card rules, and not having too many new accounts. I’ve seen others get declined for things like “too many recent cards” even with perfect credit. Anyone else get approved or denied for this card recently? Also, curious how people are planning to use the $300 hotel credit… booking a winter trip soon!
