Citi Strata Elite, Worth It for Travelers or Just a First-Year Play?

I’ve been digging into the new Citi Strata Elite card, and as a frequent traveler, I can see why it’s tempting especially with the 100K ThankYou Points welcome offer and $500–$700 in credits you can double-dip in year one. The big perk for me is Citi’s expanded transfer partner list, now including American Airlines, plus the ability to earn 1.5x everywhere with no foreign transaction fees.

That said, the $595 annual fee is steep for what you get long-term. Travel protections aren’t as strong as Chase Sapphire Reserve or Venture X, and the 6x dining category is oddly limited to Friday and Saturday nights based on Eastern Time. I could see keeping it if I booked a lot through Citi’s travel portal, but otherwise I’d probably downgrade after year one.

Has anyone here tried pairing it with the Premier or Double Cash for better value?
