I just read about the new Citi Strata Elite card and its $200 annual Splurge Credit. From what I understand, you can choose merchants like American Airlines, Best Buy, or Live Nation, and the credit applies pretty easily once you register. I like that it’s based on the calendar year, so technically in the first year you could get two credits before paying the second annual fee.
I’m leaning toward using it for American Airlines since I usually book flights direct, but I also wonder if Best Buy gift cards or electronics might be the safer play. Has anyone here tried redeeming the Splurge Credit yet? Did you find one merchant easier than the others to maximize?
