China has announced that during the winter 2025 flight schedule the aviation industry will significantly expand its international route offerings. According to the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), from October 26, 2025 to March 28, 2026, China’s civil aviation sector will implement the 2025/26 winter schedule, featuring around 119,500 weekly passenger and cargo flights across domestic and foreign carriers. Although the Travel & Tour World article mentions new flights to Brazil, the US and Australia, it complements broader announcements of China adding long-haul services, such as plans by China Eastern Airlines to connect Shanghai with Buenos Aires via Auckland from December 2025. This push reflects China’s strategy to enhance global connectivity, tap into inter-continental leisure and business travel flows, and rebuild its post-pandemic aviation link network.
