China Eastern Airlines is launching a new transpacific route connecting Shanghai and Buenos Aires starting in early 2026. The service will operate twice weekly using the airline’s wide-body fleet, aiming to tap into increasing demand for direct South America-Asia connections. Leadership emphasized the route’s potential for boosting tourism, trade, and cultural linkages between Argentina and China. The airline also noted that this new route fills a gap in existing global connectivity and responds to longstanding traveler demand for more efficient options.
