China Eastern Airlines officially launched its new aviation base in Changchun, northeastern China, on July 24, 2025, upgrading its Changchun–Shanghai route to an “Air Express” service with approximately 16 round‑trip flights daily between Changchun Longjia International Airport (CGQ) and Shanghai Pudong (PVG). The move underscores the airline’s strategy to boost domestic connectivity and support tourism in Jilin province, making the region more accessible both for Chinese travelers and potentially international visitors via enhanced access to a major hub in Shanghai.
