China Eastern Airlines will resume direct flights between Shanghai and Delhi starting November 9, 2025, marking the restoration of India-China air connectivity after more than five years. The airline will operate three weekly flights using Airbus A330-200 aircraft. Flights between the two countries were halted in 2020 due to the pandemic and subsequent border tensions. This relaunch, approved by India’s civil aviation ministry, symbolizes a step toward rebuilding economic, trade, and cultural ties between China and India. China Eastern noted that the resumption completes the full restoration of its Indian network, complementing IndiGo’s recently launched Kolkata–Guangzhou route.
