Chicago O’Hare Breaks Record, Tops U.S. Airport Traffic in Historic July

I was flying through O’Hare in July and could feel the energ terminals buzzing, lines at security, and a constant flow of rolling suitcases. Now it makes sense: Chicago actually beat Atlanta, JFK, and Dallas/Fort Worth in passenger numbers, hitting an all-time screening record.

The Fourth of July holiday, strong domestic tourism, and booming international travel all seemed to collide into one massive travel wave. Honestly, it was crowded, but also exciting to see airports this alive again after the slower years. Makes me wonder if this momentum will carry into the fall or if we just witnessed the peak of 2025 air travel.
