Flying with Lufthansa soon on the route Bucharest to Munich to Bangkok and planning to travel with just one bag that is slightly larger than the allowed carry-on size.
The ticket already includes a checked bag, but the preference is to keep the bag as hand luggage because it’s somewhere between carry-on and checked size, and there’s concern about it getting lost during the connection in Munich.
If the bag is considered oversized at the airport, wondering if it would be possible to check it at the boarding gate instead of paying extra for oversized hand baggage.
