We arrived at the hotel around 6pm with two rooms on the same reservation. Only one room was ready. The receptionist said she’d call my mobile once the second room was ready since we had dinner plans.
No call ever came. We checked back around 9, then 10, then 11… still nothing. When we finally came back to the hotel at 11:30pm, the second room was just ready and we checked in then.
There was barely an apology and no explanation. 11:30pm feels like an insane time to get access to a room, especially considering check in was supposed to be much earlier. Thankfully we didn’t have kids with us, because that would’ve been a nightmare.
Is this normal, or should the hotel have handled this better?
