My girlfriend is flying Bangalore to Dubai on IndiGo on March 6. Standard ticket includes 7kg cabin + 30kg checked, but she has two big suitcases, about 30kg each.
I checked excess baggage and IndiGo wants around 30,000 INR for an extra 30kg. Her actual ticket only cost about 12,000 INR, so paying more than double just for baggage feels insane.
So I started wondering:
Can I legally buy a second ticket in her name just to use the baggage allowance?
If that’s not allowed, could I buy a ticket in my name, check in one bag at the counter, get the boarding pass, and then just not fly?
Would a no show cancel anything or cause problems for her booking? Has anyone tried something like this with IndiGo or similar airlines?
