Looking at a business class flight that’s $4k one way. But if I book it as a round trip, it drops to about $2.5k total.
I’d actually plan to use points for the return, so I don’t really need that second leg.
Has anyone booked a round trip for the lower fare and then canceled just the return within 24 hours? Does that reprice the outbound and wipe out the savings? Or does the 24 hour rule protect the original pricing?
Trying to figure out if this is a legit strategy or just asking for trouble.
